Magical Moments

I am going to take a moment to wax poetic about running and the effect it has had on my life. The above quote, by Kara Goucher (US Olympic team runner, amazing athlete),pretty much sums it up for me. Time on the road or trail, is simply a reminder of how blessed I am,coupled with the quiet opportunity to reflect fully on this, take it in, and to wear it proudly for the rest of the day. I have found myself out running, feeling taller, stronger, smiling wider and turning my face upwards to the sun, simply because of the joy I feel inside and the pure gratitude for the opportunity I have been given. Running for me is a chance to be me, at my most me-like. Free of judgement, cleared of stresses and away from insecurities, I can be my highest self, in tune with every sensation in my body like no other time. It is an intimate opportunity for me to celebrate my body and engage in a conversation that enlightens and forms a healthier and more aware relationship with it's most minute subtleties. Lacing up my runners is the beginning of the meditation, and one last glance towards the heavens is the amen that ends the experience. And everything else in between is pure joy, outrageous fun, and sweet, sweet freedom. How has running opened up your life to magical moments? Please share below or message me. I would love to feature other people's experiences with running!
