A Little Bit About Me and Running

So, this blog is an attempt to stop boring my poor husband and friends with tales of my running escapades. As much as they love me, I am certain that "split times" "LSD's" and "black toes" are among their least favourite topics. I am simply going to save them the effort of pasting on an interested smile and doing the "smile and nod". I am a Mum of two, wife of an avid cyclist (yes, he makes fun of me for running- more on that in later posts), a fitness professional and most importantly of course, a runner! Kinda excited to admit that publicly. I am at a point in my running life that is easy. It's easy to motivate myself to throw on a pair of runners and hit the road. It's easy to be inside my head and enjoy the space. It's easy to realise a comraderie with other runners, whether they are beside me or across the street. Most of all, it's easy to SEE, to notice the world around me. Running is a trip around my little world that affords me the chance to see all of it's beauty in minutiae. From the great caterpillar rescue to running beside a pair of deer, my eyes are open and I see it all. Running hasn't always come to me this way (but more on that later) and please don't get the impression that every run is roses and without struggle or broken toenails. But it's always worth the effort. So I want to create a space to share thoughts, stories, personal bests (or worsts!) injuries, recoveries, gear reviews, book recommendations, race reviews and more. Always looking for running stories, so please share yours! Hope that my running ramblings help inspire you to keep running, or maybe to start out the front door. Run Free!
